Would you believe IT? There is a proposal to put a landfill site HERE!!!

The Green Area on this map shows how Glenasmole Valley

and the surrounding mountains have been zoned "Objective H".

   "To protect and enhance the outstanding natural

        character of the Dublin Mountain Area"

The Red Areas are Proposed National Heritage Areas!

YOU may be wondering how it is that this area could even be considered as a place to fill with rubbish!

WE certainly are!

On the SDCC Website you can find plenty of information suggesting the importance of this area;

"The maintenance and protection of existing green belt areas within the county is a priority. The Board will encourage that environmentally sensitive areas such as Liffey Valley and Glenasmole Valley be protected and further developed as amenities for the benefit of the residents of South Dublin."

(Environmental Development and Protection, SDCC Website.)

..........

South Dublin County Council's Motto is;

"This We Hold In Trust"

Where is the Trust if we allow the destruction of Glenasmole Valley,

How will future generations look back at their inheritance?

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

WHAT IS OUR COUNCIL GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?
